Congratulations!

Hi everyone,

I would like to extend a congratulations and a big thank you to the students of our class on the assembly that we ran on Thursday.  What a success!  We awarded character awards to the following students:

Inclusiveness (Character Trait for September) - Callum
Respect (Character Trait for October) - Reed
Principal's Award for September - for a positive attitude - Britney
Principal's Award for October - for leadership within our school community - Girin

Congratulations to all recipients!  For the month of November, our Character Trait is courage. 

This week, students in all three Grade 8 classes will be receiving a History assignment that is to be done on Bitstrips (an online comic strip website).  If your child tells you that they "just HAVE to go on the computer for school", this is why!  We will be giving them time during the week to work on their assignments, however due to limited time and resources, some of this assignment will have to be done at home. The deadline for this assignment is closer to the end of November and will be determined with the students this week. To see the assignment, click on History Links.

Students received QSP Magazine selling paperwork last week.  The deadline to have subscriptions back to Fieldcrest is November 19th.  We've made a deal that at certain milestones, the students in our class will receive an incentive award, with the "50-subscriptions-prize" being a class party! (That's 50 in total, not per student!) Good luck!

Lastly, please remember to send in your student-led confirmation sheets as soon as possible.  The conferences will be held on Thursday evening and Friday morning of this week.  I will do my best to accommodate all requests.
